2020 Marriage Challenge Day 1

Day 1 of the 28-Day Marriage Challenge

Day 1: Love Engages

You have to engage. It's true at work, in sports, and in marriage. Until you engage, your relationship cannot change for the better. Engagement implies two specific qualities--attention and involvement. Both your spouse and your marriage need both.First, your spouse needs you to be attentive to them. See them. Take your eyes off your work, off your kids, off your phone, and actually look at your spouse. What is his/her needs? Where is she/he in life? The longer a marriage goes, the easier it becomes to slowly take your eyes off your spouse. For this month, look at him/her again. See the one you loved.Second, your spouse needs your involvement. You have to dive in. You can't approach your marriage at arm's length. It's full throttle. Heart, soul, mind, and strength--you must be fully involved. Let your spouse know that you plan on fully engaging in your marriage this month. You will pay attention to them and you will pay attention to your relationship.Love engages. Application: Take some time to consider how you have possibly disengaged from your marriage or your spouse. Apologize. Take time to see your spouse again.  Free: If you have Amazon Prime, you can read my book Happily for free. For more, see:The Creation of UsWhat You Are Doing Wrong In Marriage
