2020 Marriage Challenge Day 24

Day 24 of the Marriage Challenge

Day 24: Love Works

Effort matters. When two spouses are equally putting effort into their marriage, lives, and homes, they can overcome anything. Yet when their effort begins to wane, trouble is looming. The difficulty is that not many people are lazy in every area of life. Some are. As I said in Six Signs of a Lazy Man, you should never marry a lazy man (or woman). Life requires too much work to spend much time with a person who is lazy. However, in most cases, a person works hard, but they aren't working equally in each area of life. So a spouse might be a workaholic in their profession, but aren't willing to put the work in to make their marriage thrive.Relationships require work. They require us to work on the relationship, inside the home, outside the home, and on ourselves. If we aren't willing to work in each of these areas with a strong tenacity, we will suffer. The good news is that love motivates us to put in the effort. When we truly love one another, we desire to do whatever it takes to make our relationship flourish. Love works.                   Application: At the end of the article Work On Your Marriage is a series of questions. Ask yourself and your spouse those questions. Be willing to confront some areas in which maybe you need to put more effort into the relationship.  For more, see:This Is Who You Want to MarryFive Types of Women You Shouldn't Marry
