Day 3 of the 28-Day Marriage Challenge

Day 3: Peace and War

The way a soldier dresses for the battlefield is different than how they dress at home. In war, they know they are under attack. At home, they know they are safe. They confuse to the two at their own peril. The same is true for us. Too often, we confuse the two. In Happily, I write, "Dress for peace at home and for war everywhere else." (pg. 171) Our attitude and approach should be one of peace when at home. We should assume the best, and be vulnerable and tender. We should be on the lookout outside the home. Not everyone has pure motives. Some wouldn't mind taking our marriage down. We should be more hesitant and alert. When you are quick to charm a co-worker but not your wife, you have confused peace and war. When you show more of your body at work than in the bedroom, you are acting at war with your husband. Not every situation is the same. At times you are safe and at other times you are in danger. Recognize the difference and act appropriately.  Application: Think of one thing you can do today to woo your spouse. Do it. For more, see:No Wonder You Don't Love Each OtherIntimacy Is Far More Than Sex
